As part of ‘Young Moms Support Initiative’ mandate to create sustainability and empower the everyday African Woman; the organisation introduced ‘The Skilled African Woman’ 5 days workshop in Abuja.
The workshop launched at Merit House Abuja, amidst members of the Initiative, women in the general and a large league of Press men and women.
The workshop which is nationwide, started off in Abuja, on the 28th July, 2018 – while the first stretch of trainings started on the 30th July, 2018.
During these five days training, women will be exposed to vocational and skill acquisition opportunities. There’s an array of Skilled programs and vocational trainings, such as, Liquid Soap making, Gelle tying, Farming, Sewing, Makeup artist, just to mention a few….
The event also had representatives from the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Funmilayo Abdulkareem pointed out the values of this initiative that Young Mom Support Initiative has brought to the fore, in order to develop and empower women with economic opportunities.
Founder, Young Mom Support Initiative Mrs. Vivian Sonny-Nsirim also points out reasons this is a milestone for economic growth. She expresses her determination to empower 1500 women annually. She also pleaded to the general public public to support this initiative; both Government parastatals, Corporate industries, and individual stakeholders.
